Among Us Yet Apart. Echoes of Migration in Istria
In the second edition of the CONTACT ZONE program, we explored and developed an exhibition on the phenomenon of new migrations in our territory. These migrations have made everyday encounters and interactions with individuals from different parts of the world a part of our lives, yet we know very little or almost nothing about them. The aim of the project was to investigate this phenomenon and document the personal experiences, life stories, motivations, journeys, and living and working conditions of our new fellow citizens and neighbors. The collected data, objects and resources served as the foundation for a thematic exhibition and an accompanying publication.
The research and exhibition project Among Us, but Not Quite. Echoes of Migration in Istria was carried out during 2025. The exhibition opened to the public on 27 November 2025 and will be on view until 25 September 2026.
